Employ strategies to increase traffic safety, including visibility, education, and consistent monitoring.

• Use collision data in our crime reduction, community engagement, and other collaborative meetings to inform safety strategies.

GOAL 3

Expand and Optimize the Camera Network

• Collaborate with campus stakeholders and the strategic plan to prioritize the camera placement plan.
• Assess current coverage and identify surveillance gaps using crime and vulnerability data.
• Install new cameras in priority areas within the fiscal year budget.

GOAL 4

Increase fire safety

• Conduct regular fire inspections and safety drills across all university facilities.
• Provide fire safety education campaigns to faculty, staff, and students.

• Achieve a 100% correction rate for all Tier 1 and Tier 2 fire code violations identified during inspections.
• Complete fire and life safety inspections for 100% of UC-owned buildings and residence halls.
• Ensure full compliance with Ohio fire drill requirements, including one annual drill for all office buildings and three annual drills for all residence halls.

GOAL 5

Transition to New Business Continuity Platform

• Continue supporting departments in updating and testing continuity plans using Bearcat Ready (Kuali).
• Recruit and onboard a qualified candidate for the newly created Business Continuity Planner/Grants Coordinator position early in FY26.
• Collaborate with key stakeholders in Student Affairs and Public Safety to identify, apply for, and secure relevant grant funding opportunities by the close of FY26.
• Establish and document a streamlined, sustainable grant management process in preparation for full implementation in FY27.

• Business Continuity Plans reviewed and updated to reflect current operations, staffing, and risk assessments.
• New continuity plans developed and implemented for units without existing plans.
• Submit competitive grant applications for available funding opportunities that support both Student Affairs and Public Safety initiatives during FY26
• Begin submitting grant applications for both Student Affairs and Public Safety, with a focus on learning institutional processes, understanding agency requirements, and building collaborative relationships.
• Establish a working foundation for future grant success by mapping key grant sources, developing internal tracking tools, and initiating a shared grant planning calendar for FY27.

GOAL 6

AXON DeDrone and AED Project Implementation

• Coordinate with the FAA, Cincinnati Police, and UC Departments to install the dedrone system on Calhoun Hall.
• Complete Phase 4 of the 8 phase AED program to help fill remaining gaps in university-wide AED coverage.
• Plan and host the FY26 CLERY TTX and facilitate respective After-Action activities.

• Complete coordination with the FAA, local law enforcement, and UC departments to fully install and activate the Dedrone system on Calhoun Hall by June 30, 2026, with all necessary approvals documented and operational testing completed.
• Successfully complete Phase 4 of the 8-phase AED expansion plan by installing new AED units in at least 90% of identified gap areas, based on the most recent campus-wide coverage assessment.
